By accessing or using Dear Hunger's services, you agree to be bound by these terms. Please read them carefully before placing an order or subscribing to a plan.
Dear Hunger ("we", "us", or "our") provides home-cooked tiffin subscription plans and event catering services directly to customers. These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of our website and all associated digital services.
By accessing our platform, placing an order, or subscribing to a meal plan, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of our services immediately.
To create an account and place orders, you must be of legal age to enter into a binding contract under applicable Indian law. Minors may use our services only under the supervision and responsibility of a parent or legal guardian.
You are responsible for providing accurate, current, and complete registration details. Inaccurate information may result in failed deliveries or account suspension.
Each individual may hold only one account. Duplicate accounts are subject to immediate suspension without prior notice.
You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account that violates these Terms, engages in fraudulent activity, or misuses the platform in any manner.
Accounts are non-transferable. You may not assign or transfer your account or any rights under these Terms to any third party.
Dear Hunger currently offers two primary services. The scope and conditions of each are described below.
When you submit an order or subscription request, you are making an offer to purchase our services under these Terms. Submitting an order does not constitute a confirmed booking.
A binding agreement is formed only when we send you an order confirmation via email or SMS. We reserve the right to decline any order due to ingredient unavailability, capacity constraints, or service area limitations.
You are solely responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address, including floor, building name, and landmarks. Dear Hunger is not liable for failed deliveries resulting from incorrect address information provided at the time of order.
Order modifications (e.g., changes to delivery address or meal preferences) may be requested by contacting us, subject to our operational timelines. Modifications are not guaranteed once preparation has commenced.
All prices displayed are in Indian Rupees (INR) and are inclusive of applicable Goods and Services Tax (GST) unless stated otherwise.
Prices for all services — including tiffin subscription plans and event catering orders — are subject to change at any time without prior notice to customers. Price revisions are directly influenced by market inflation, raw ingredient costs, fuel prices, and other operational factors beyond our control. All pricing decisions are made solely at the discretion of Dear Hunger's management team, who reserve all rights to revise, adjust, or restructure pricing at any time.
We accept payments via credit/debit cards, UPI, net banking, and supported digital wallets through our PCI-DSS compliant payment gateway partners.
We do not store your full card details on our servers. All card data is tokenised and processed securely by our payment gateway partners in accordance with PCI-DSS standards.
Tiffin subscription plans are billed in advance for the selected plan duration. Renewal billing occurs automatically at the end of each plan cycle unless cancelled in accordance with our cancellation policy.
If a payment fails or is declined, your order or subscription will not be confirmed until successful payment is received. We are not responsible for any charges imposed by your bank or payment provider.
A digital receipt will be sent to your registered email address upon successful payment. GST invoices can be requested through our support team with your GST registration details.
We are committed to delivering your meals on time. However, delivery is subject to the following conditions.
Delivery times are estimates only. We do not guarantee exact delivery at a specific minute. Factors including traffic, weather, and operational conditions may affect delivery timelines.
You or an authorised representative must be available at the delivery address to receive the order. We reserve the right to not leave food unattended, and missed deliveries are not eligible for refunds.
Our delivery services operate within a defined geographical area. Orders placed outside our operational zone may be rejected or may incur additional delivery charges.
Dear Hunger is not liable for delivery delays or failures caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, civil disturbances, government orders, or severe weather conditions.
We take care to ensure food is packed properly at the time of dispatch. However, we cannot guarantee temperature or freshness after delivery, particularly if left uncollected at the delivery location.
We reserve the right to assign deliveries to our own team or third-party delivery partners. The identity of the delivery partner is not guaranteed and may vary from order to order.
Our cancellation and refund terms vary depending on the type of service and the timing of the cancellation request. Time-based refund tiers, eligibility conditions, and the step-by-step refund process are fully detailed in our dedicated Refund Policy.
Cancellations within 5 days of payment may be eligible for a partial refund. Cancellations made after 5 days from the transaction date are non-refundable. Refer to our Refund Policy for the exact refund percentages and conditions.
Refund eligibility for event catering orders depends on how far in advance the cancellation is made relative to the event date. Same-day cancellations are not eligible for any refund. Full details are in our Refund Policy.
Our food is prepared in a shared kitchen environment that uses common allergens including peanuts (groundnuts), tree nuts (cashews, almonds), sesame seeds (til), dairy (milk, paneer, ghee, butter), eggs, wheat (gluten), soy, and mustard seeds. Despite best efforts, we cannot guarantee the complete absence of cross-contact with allergens. Customers with severe food allergies should exercise caution.
You must inform us of any food allergies or intolerances at the time of placing your order. We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate your requirements, but cannot guarantee allergen-free preparation.
Dear Hunger operates in compliance with the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) regulations. Our kitchen and food handling practices adhere to prescribed hygiene and safety standards.
Our meals are not designed for specific medical conditions (e.g., diabetes, renal disease). If you have a diagnosed medical condition with dietary restrictions, please consult your healthcare provider before subscribing.
Dear Hunger shall not be held liable for any allergic reactions, adverse health effects, or injuries arising from the consumption of our food, provided the customer was informed of allergen risks at the time of order.
When using our platform, you agree not to engage in any of the following activities:
Providing false personal information, using stolen payment credentials, placing fraudulent orders, or impersonating another individual or entity.
Purchasing meals or subscriptions for the purpose of commercial resale or redistribution without our express written consent.
Attempting to exploit promotional offers, referral programmes, or discount codes in a manner inconsistent with their intended use; creating multiple accounts to circumvent account-level restrictions.
Deliberately providing an incorrect or false delivery address to bypass delivery area restrictions or to manipulate pricing.
Engaging in abusive, threatening, or harassing behaviour toward our delivery staff, customer support team, or any other user of the platform.
Using our services for any purpose that violates applicable Indian laws, including the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, Information Technology Act, 2000, or any other relevant statute.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Dear Hunger's total liability to you for any claim arising from the use of our services shall not exceed the amount actually paid by you for the specific order or subscription giving rise to the claim.
We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, loss of data, loss of goodwill, or business interruption, arising from your use of or inability to use our services.
Our platform may integrate with third-party services (e.g., payment gateways, mapping services). We are not responsible for the performance, accuracy, or security of any third-party service, and your use of such services is governed by their respective terms and policies.
We do not warrant that our website or application will be available at all times, error-free, or uninterrupted. We shall not be liable for any losses resulting from platform downtime, technical failures, or maintenance periods.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of our services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in India.
We encourage you to contact our support team first to resolve any concerns informally. Most issues can be resolved quickly without formal proceedings.
Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. You retain the right to file a complaint with the Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission at any time.
